INX partners with Albert Invent to advance AI-driven R&D

INX will deploy Albert Invent’s operating system across its global R&D organization to centralize experimental data, connect workflows, and establish a unified foundation for AI-powered discovery.

INX International Ink Co. has announced a strategic collaboration with Albert Invent aimed at transforming its research and development operations through AI-driven formulation and data intelligence.

Under the agreement, INX will deploy Albert Invent’s operating system across its global R&D organization to centralize experimental data, connect workflows, and establish a unified foundation for AI-powered discovery. The move is designed to enhance how scientific knowledge is captured, shared, and applied across INX’s diverse portfolio, which includes solvent-based, water-based, energy-curable, and metal decorating ink systems.

“Digital transformation in R&D isn’t just about implementing software. It’s about changing how knowledge flows across an entire organization,” says Mark Hill, senior vice president of R&D at INX. “The team at Albert are partners we can count on, working closely with our scientists to understand our workflows and implement a system that reflects how our teams actually innovate.”

The collaboration includes a large-scale migration of INX’s historical R&D data into the Albert platform, enabling scientists to leverage institutional knowledge while applying AI tools to design experiments, predict formulation performance, and optimize materials. Additional capabilities include integrated regulatory intelligence for generating safety data sheets during development and streamlined workflows linking commercial requests directly to R&D teams.

“Modern materials innovation will increasingly depend on turning experimental knowledge into intelligence,” says Nick Talken, CEO of Albert Invent. “By building an AI-ready R&D infrastructure, INX has taken a significant step forward in accelerating discovery.”

The initiative reflects a broader push across the ink and coatings sector to integrate digital tools and AI into formulation science, enabling faster innovation cycles and more efficient product development.
